Today a row has erupted on This Morning as Melinda Messenger was on the show to talk about her choice not to allow her daughter to have the HPV vaccine.
Melinda was on the show with Dr Chris Steele when he decided to row with the former glamour model because of the rage of chronic illnesses what the drug can cause.
‘What upsets me, Melinda, is that you’ve done this in the public domain. You could have done this privately. This will affect people.’
The injection is called Gardasil is used in the national NHS cervical cancer vaccination programme and protects against the two types of HPV, which are responsible for more than 70% of cervical cancers in the UK.
Melinda then replied back to Chris and said:
‘there are 300 cases in the UK of people being struck down with chronic illnesses after the vaccine. I’ve had email after email about this and I can’t ignore it.’
Dr Joey then said:
‘There is nothing to support that the vaccination is linked to chronic disease. I strongly urge people to have the vaccine as it could save your life.’
Show host Phillip Schofield then said that both of his daughters had it and they where fine afterwards.
