It was over last weekend a unreleased track from Amy Winehouse called My Own Way was released and it’s been said that the late singer recorded it in 2001 when she was only 17 years of age.
Now the single has been released online and according to composer Gil Cang, he has said that Amy hoped the single would grab the attention of record labels.
Talking to the Camden New Journal:
“It was September 2001 and her first album hadn’t come out… She hadn’t signed for Island Records then.”
Then Gil continued to say that he always knew she would be a star:
“We were struck immediately by her talent. It was a real jaw-on-the-floor moment… We were like wow, yes.”
Gil received the tape last month and now he decided to release it online and we have to say we are so glad that he did.
