He’s been self-isolating for the last near two weeks and now Matt Baker has had to have his last day presenting The One Show in isolation filming from his home.
His co-presenter Alex Jones got upset while live on the show as Matt’s leaving after presenting the BBC One show for the last nine years.
Matt seemed relaxed during the live broadcast but his co-host Alex seemed to get a bit upset while live on the television.
Alex couldn’t hold back the tears while she was live on air as she read out thoughtful goodbye messages from viewers.
Starting the show Alex said:
‘Matt is joining me from home on his last day at the one show. There should have been nibbles and drinks, but due to the current situation there isn’t.
‘You said you were leaving in December and the day is finally here!’
Explaining why he’s at home Matt said:
‘It’s non-essential travel for me to come in when I can say goodbye from here! As we always say, I’m having a sneaky g&t on the sofa.’
Matt has been self-isolating due to a member of his household has symptoms of Coronavirus but it has not been tested.
It was so sad to see Matt leave but we know that it wont be long until he’s back on TV again.
