British Soap Awards 2020 Canceled Due To Coronavirus As ITV Will Air Anniversary Show Narrated By  Phillip Schofield

The British Soap Awards 2020 has been canceled due to Coronavirus.

The yearly award show hosted by Phillip Schofield has been forced to be pulled due to the pandemic sweeping the UK ITV have confirmed.

Bosses have said that the awards show will return in 2021 but for this year they will air a special episode celebrating the highlights of the soap calendar over the past 21 years – which will be narrated by host Phillip Schofield.

A spokesperson has said on Tuesday:

‘In light of the latest government health guidelines and in line with our priority of safeguarding the wellbeing of everyone involved in our programmes, production of The British Soap Awards will not go ahead as planned.

‘The awards ceremony will return in 2021.

This years show will be called ‘The British Soap Awards Celebrates 21 Years’ will air this Spring.
