Eastenders To Resume Filming Within Weeks But With ‘Limited Crew And Cast Doing Their Owen Makeup’

BBC bosses have confirmed that Eastenders is going to resume filming within the next few weeks.

It was in March when filming had to stop on the BBC soap due to the coronavirus pandemic with limiting the number of weekly episodes from four down to two a week.

Charlotte Moore, the broadcaster’s director of content, has said that the soap will be back filming very soon along with Top Gear.

This comes just days after it was announced that  ITV’s Coronation Street is in the final stages of a ‘return-to-production protocol’.

Charlotte has told The Telegraph:

‘We’ve been looking carefully at how we can safely put some of our shows back into production, and I’m pleased to announce that we plan to begin filming again on both EastEnders and Top Gear by the end of June.

‘We’re also exploring ways to restart shooting on dramas and other major BBC shows.’

She then continued to say:

‘Of course, we will work within Government guidelines. Crews will be strictly limited. Cast members will do their own hair and make-up.

‘Social distancing will be in place.’

This comes the week that the builders where pictured getting to work on the new £87million EastEnders set in Elstree Studios, London on Wednesday.

We really need them to be filming as aparently there are only six epsiodes left so they are getting seriously low now.
