With what’s going on in America at the moment surrounding George Floyd’s awful death lots of parents have been teaching their children the importance of loving everyone and not being raciest.
Well one of them parents is Holly Willoughby.
The mum of three has taken to her Instagram account and shared a sweet post admitting that she has been teacher her children the importance of not being racist.
The This Morning host shared a a quote from American activist Cleo Wade, before saying its reminded her how important it is that her sons Harry, 11, and Chester, five, and daughter Belle, nine, have conversations around such important issues.
This comes after George was killed by police officers who held him to the ground by his neck by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and has sparked mass protests across the US.
Holly shared the post what read words by Cleo:
‘The world will say to you: We need to end racism. Start by healing it in your own family.
‘The world will say to you: How do we speak to bias and bigotry? Start by having the first conversation at your own kitchen table.
Holly them shared the quote with her own caption of:
‘It’s hard to know even where to begin with this…
‘For me it’s the responsibility I have as a parent that my children understand the importance of these words said so poignantly by @cleowade
‘I know they do already, however these are important conversations to have. Conversations that can never be had and emphasised enough… #georgefloyd #blacklivesmatter.’
We personally think that lots of parents are going to be speaking ot their children about this and hopefully they will grow up and see that everyone is equal no matter what their skin color is.
Well done Holly.
