The lightened lockdown laws permit their visitation amid the coronavirus pandemic meaning that Katie can now go and see her mother despite her being terminally ill with cancer.
It’s been reported that Katie went to see her mother today but we have not had any confirmation from Katie or her team on that.
A source said to MailOnline:
‘It was wonderful news to receive – however bittersweet as Katie cannot yet give her mother a cuddle. Amy has been in isolation for more than ten weeks, she was one of the first into the shielding program…
‘Being such a close knit family it has been odd not being able to be physically greet one another. Katie is as many others in their situation still very cautious – it is the new normal and how life is going to be for some time to come…
‘Katie will be the first over to her mum’s when cuddle gate is over!’
Amy has idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and is terminally ill after she was diagnosed in 2017.
It must be so awful that she cant cuddle her mum and hasn’t seen her for 10 weeks but at the end of the day it’s for the best as she does have this awful cancer.
