Husband and wife duo Marvin and Rochelle Humes have apparently landed a role as hosts of a brand new BBC One music quiz show.
The pair who started off their careers as singers in JLS and The Saturdays have turned into TV presenters as Marin on Capital FM and Rochelle on This Morning as she stands in for Holly Willoughby while she is in australia presenting I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here.
The new show is called Playlisters and they both have now released statements accounting the news.
They both have said:
‘It’s our first stand-alone show together and the fact it’s a format based on our love of music makes it all the more rewarding.
‘We frequently put each other’s knowledge to the test at home, so we cannot wait to see how the contestants get on.’
We have to say we are looking forward to watching their new show when it starts.
Nick Grimshaw has announced that he is stepping down as the Radio 1 Breakfast Show host after six years of presenting after he took over the role from Chris Moyles.
It’s been said that Greg James will take over.
Breaking the news on Thursday morning he wrote on Twitter:
”It was always my dream to do the breakfast show and I’m very grateful that I got to live my dream every day for what will be nearly six years.
‘But six years is a long time and this isn’t a forever job. I had the time of my life.’
Then Radio 1’s Twitter account then tweeted:
‘Don’t worry though guys, Grimmy may be stepping down from the Breakfast Show but he’s staying with the station and our friend and yours, Mr @gregjames will be waking you up every morning
‘Congratulations to both of you, we ❤️ you both!’
Grimmy you will be missed.
With the new series of Springwatch starting this week on BBC 2 fans of the how have noticed that someone is missing.
With Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Gillian Burke back hosting the show Martin Hughes-Games is missing but why is he not on the show.
It was last year when Martin announced that he will no longer be apart of the show as he stepped down as host and Steve Backshall will be taking over.
Martin took to his Twitter account and said:
“After 12 great years I have decided to leave the watches. “It’s good to go when the show is looking strong. MASSIVE thank you for yr support. [sic]”
Co-presenter Chris has been speaking about working with Martin for so many years and said:
“I am staying put. I’m going to miss Martin a lot.
“He’s an extraordinary man. He’s witty, he’s funny, he’s clever.”
“He knows a lot about wildlife. He’s extremely passionate and I will miss him.”
He really is missed and we have to say the show simply isn’t the same without him.
The wait is over!
Yearly wildlife show Springwatch is back tonight on BBC 2 and we can’t wait to see what this years series unfolds.
From Polecats to Tadpoles the show is bound to have it all and no doubt Hosts Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Gillian Burke will be showing all the footage filmed with hundreds of cameras catching every moment what the british wildlife give us.
Springwatch is on BBC 2 tonight, nightly for the next three weeks
He’s the presenter of DIY SOS and Who Dares Wins but it seems Nick Knowles is the only one who wins.
Nick is apparently on a whopping £349,00 salary paid for by the BBC eating the same amount of money as top footballers do for presenting the two BBC shows.
Now nick has defended his massive pay packet as he said that senior broadcasters’ earnings are as justifiable as top Premier League strikers.
He continued to say to The Sun:
“On a personal level of course it’s quite difficult. But there are proper reasons, and I think most people in the industry understand it.
“It is essentially a Premier League team paying a striker to score them 20 goals and keep them in the Premiership so that they can get another £100million — and that’s exactly what we do.
“As a TV presenter if a production company makes a series of programmes and it gets two and a half million viewers it won’t get another commission.
He went on to say:
“If you hire a presenter that actually carries a number of viewers with them, it’ll get five and a half million viewers, it’ll get another series and they’ll get another half a million pounds worth of business – so it’s a good bit of business.
“Anybody who earns a lot takes some explaining to people that don’t, and we live in an imperfect world where somebody who sings songs for a living makes more than a heart surgeon.”
Nick has gone from strength to straight on the box after growing up on a council estate in Southall, west London.
