With the new series of Springwatch starting this week on BBC 2 fans of the how have noticed that someone is missing.
With Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Gillian Burke back hosting the show Martin Hughes-Games is missing but why is he not on the show.
It was last year when Martin announced that he will no longer be apart of the show as he stepped down as host and Steve Backshall will be taking over.
Martin took to his Twitter account and said:
“After 12 great years I have decided to leave the watches. “It’s good to go when the show is looking strong. MASSIVE thank you for yr support. [sic]”
Co-presenter Chris has been speaking about working with Martin for so many years and said:
“I am staying put. I’m going to miss Martin a lot.
“He’s an extraordinary man. He’s witty, he’s funny, he’s clever.”
“He knows a lot about wildlife. He’s extremely passionate and I will miss him.”
He really is missed and we have to say the show simply isn’t the same without him.
Viewers to Sunday Brunch have hit out at Michaela Strachan after she announced the results of Strictly Come Dancing hours before the results show aired on TV.
Strachan was on the Channel 4 show on Sunday morning when she annouced Simon Rimmer’s fate before the results show had aired.
When asked by Simon’s co-host Tim Lovejoy what she thought of his dance she said:
“First of all, I’m not talking to you Simon because I’ve been trying to get on Strictly Come Dancing for 10 years. They won’t have me! Then there you are!
“So, I’m going to be a little bit judgemental and say that last night’s performance – you put your heart and soul into it – you looked like you were playing a part in Sweeney Todd quite frankly.”
Viewers where quick to comment on social media to complain as they where not happy that the show had been ruined for them.
One person wrote:
“@SundayBrunchC4 tell Michaela Strachan she’s probably just ruined tonight’s #bbcstrictly results show by her comments. Stop her now.”
While another said:
“michaela might have just given away that Simon left last night then on Strictly #SundayBrunch”
They where not happy at all.
Springwatch presenter Michaela Strachan appeared on Loose Women on Thursday to talk about her breast cancer diagnoses.
The presenter got all the Loose Women grabbing their boobs after she admitted that she feels her boobs are not her own anymore as she was forced to have implants after having double mastectomy and mastectomy three years ago.
The girls including Penny Lancaster, Nadia Sawalha , Andrea Mclean and Jane More all grabbed their boobs live on the shoe to show their support.
She had the worse diagnoses of her life when she was told that she had breast cancer but now Michaela Strachan has confessed that she doesn’t like her new breasts.
Michaela confessed that she feels lucky to have beaten cancer three years ago but said that her breast are now hard after double mastectomy and mastectomy.
Strachan said on Loose Women on Thursday:
‘They’re as hard as coconuts, I find it very difficult to love them,’ she said. ‘They don’t look the same, they’ve gone a bit wonky.’
‘Isn’t it funny, I can hold my breasts on television because they’re not mine.’
We are s glad that she is now over the cancer and she’s looking really well.
If you’re a regular to watching Springwatch you will know that normally presenting the show is Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan, Martin Hughes-Games but this series what started on Monday you would have seen a new presenter called Gillian Burke.
If you’re wondering who Gillian is well she’s a Biologist and filmmaker who made an appearance on the show last year and now has been made a permanent member of the team.
She was born outside Nairobi, Kenya and lived a life as “very happily feral” as she would kick her shoes off and go and play outside with none on.
It was in September of 2016 when it was reported that Martin Hughes-Games has been axed from the show because he is white and middle-class and the BBC wanted more diversity among its presenters.
Gillian admitted that she was ‘horrified’ when it was reported that she was breaking up the Springwatch family.
As she said:
“A friend texted me one Monday morning saying I was in the papers. Can you imagine the horror for me of apparently busting into the party and being blamed for breaking it up?
“I can totally understand why people would want to know where I’ve come from; the perception is that I’ve just shown up. But I’ve been doing this a long time.”
Lets hope that she fits in well with the team so far we have to say we are liking her.
So tonight one of my favorite shows returned to BBC Two and i have to say I wasn’t disappointed.
The nature show was back with presenters Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan, Martin Hughes-Games and new presenter Gillian Burke along with the new presenter they have a completely new home as they have moved from Minsmere in Suffolk to National Trust’ Sherborne Park Estate in the heart of the Cotswolds.
The show started with a introduction of their new home along with the presenters showing all the new cameras what they have up at the new location.
They have a new studio what is a large t pee and we have to say it looks very very cosy.
Now time to talk about what wildlife they have and already they have barn owls, blue tits and badges and if you’re a regular to Springwatch you will know just how hard they find it to see the badgers.
We have to say we are so looking forward to the next three weeks it’s so exciting.
