Reports are saying that Mrs Browns Boys could be dropped by the BBC over the news what broke today that three members of the cast have been paid through an offshore tax avoidance scheme.
Patrick Houlihan, Fiona Delany and Martin Delany have all been caught up in the tax drama but now Paddy Power has been putting odds on the show being axed.
A Spokesperson for Paddy Power has said:
“I know it’s achingly cool to hate Mrs Brown’s Boys but, for once, the hipsters are right.
“So this leak has put a lot of hope into the people of Ireland, Britain and anyone who owns a television set. A Mrs Brown’s Boys-free year of telly really would be Paradise.”
Three stars from Mrs Brown’s Boys have diverted more than a whopping £2 million pounds in offshore tax-avoidance scheme.
Fiona Delany and Patrick Houlihan and Martin have transferred their money into companies in Mauritius and sent have money back as loans.
Other Tax avoidance schemes have been investigated by HMRC over the last few years.
More to come…
He’s been the laugh of Mrs Brown’s Boys but now Rory Cowan has decided to quit the show.
Rory has been performing for the last few nights at London’s O2 Arena and had all the audience in stitches but he has said enough is enough and ended his time with Mrs Brown.
Talking to the Iris Daily Mail he said:
‘I hadn’t been happy working for the Mrs Brown’s Boys company for the last 18 months to two years.
‘I feel that 26 years is enough so I decided it was time to go. I told Brendan [O’Carroll, the writer and actor] on June 16 about my decision to leave.
‘That’s when I handed in my notice.
He continued to say:
‘I was supposed to leave at the end of that week, but Brendan said that would be impossible and asked if I’d stay on until the end of the London O2 gigs. So I agreed to that.’
‘I’m not going into details about why I was unhappy. I did the final show, packed my stuff into a small Waitrose plastic bag and just left the venue.’
It’s such a shame that he has decided to leave but if he doesn’t want to be on the show any more then good for him.
Thank you for making us laugh.
